Meaning
A fire burns at the foot of a mountain and lights it from below: the mountain is the same, only seen in a better light. The hexagram is adornment, grace, the form given to things, and the tradition treats it with respect and with caution. Legge's Judgment says there should be "free course", and that there will be little advantage in letting adornment take the lead. Its lines move from simple ornament to plainness: the top line is white, ornament given up, and is without error.
Human Design puts gate 22 from 17°00′ to 22°37′30″ Pisces, ninth on the wheel, in the Solar Plexus centre, the motor the system ties to emotion. Its one channel runs to gate 12 in the Throat; the school names both the gate and the channel Openness. The pair is in the Knowing circuit of the Individual group.
We read the gate, in our own words, as grace in how a person meets others: warmth, style and attention that make an encounter easier. The hexagram's caution belongs with it. Ornament is good when it shows what is there and empty when it replaces it, and the I Ching ends the figure in plain white. Set in the centre the system ties to emotion, the gate can be read as openness that follows feeling, generous at one time and closed at another, and its channel to gate 12, caution, as the timing of when that openness is spoken.
Opposite gate 22 on the wheel is gate 47, confinement, the lake with no water in it. The school names a cross, Rulership, from the two of them. A cross is a name for four positions, never a role a person is given.

Gate 22 covers 5°37′30″ of the zodiac, from 17°00′ to 22°37′30″ Pisces, the 9th gate counting from gate 41. In 2026 the Sun passes through it from 7 March to 13 March, and within a day of those dates in other years. Each of its six lines covers 56′15″:

falseWhat the record shows: The wheel is Ra Uru Hu's arrangement: Shao Yong's 11th-century circle of the 64, rotated so that hexagram 41 starts at 2° Aquarius. No Chinese source ties a hexagram to degrees of the zodiac.

The Solar Plexus centre, where gate 22 sits, is an organ or gland, and the gate tells something about the body.
unverifiedWhat the record shows: The centre's name is a name. The schools' pairing of the centres with organs and glands, taken from the chakra books of the 1920s, has no physiological correspondence that anyone has shown, and we never read a gate or a centre as the body or its health.
