Meaning
Thunder moves under heaven, and the tradition reads the figure as action in keeping with the way things are: no design, no ulterior aim. The character means without falsehood or without expectation, and Legge's Judgment promises great progress and success "while there will be advantage in being firm and correct", warning that whoever is not correct will go astray. The line texts are about acting innocently and still meeting misfortune, which the book treats as part of the same condition.
Human Design places gate 25 from 28°15′ Pisces to 3°52′30″ Aries, so the start of the tropical zodiac falls inside it; the wheel itself begins elsewhere, with gate 41 at 2° Aquarius. The gate is in the G centre, which the system ties to identity and direction, and its channel, which the school names Initiation, runs to gate 51 in the Heart. The pair is in the school's Individual group, in the circuit it calls Centering.
The engine names the gate Innocence, which is also one of the common modern English names of the hexagram; on this page the word names the gate and not the hexagram. We read the gate, in our own words, as acting without calculation, being open and unguarded. The hexagram does not promise that such openness is rewarded. Its third line is the tethered ox led off by a passer-by, a loss that falls on the blameless. Joined to gate 51, the hexagram of thunder doubled, the gate can be read as an unguarded self that is tested by shocks and stays unguarded after them.
Opposite gate 25 on the wheel is gate 46, ascending. The Definitive Book, as the pyhd tables record it, titles gate 25 The Spirit of the Self, one of the eight places where its title differs from ours in substance. Jovian's own pages use that form too.

Gate 25 covers 5°37′30″ of the zodiac, from 28°15′ Pisces to 3°52′30″ Aries, the 11th gate counting from gate 41. In 2026 the Sun passes through it from 18 March to 24 March, and within a day of those dates in other years. Each of its six lines covers 56′15″:
