Meaning
Heaven lies inside the mountain: the greatest force held in by the most solid. The tradition reads the hexagram as great restraint, and also as great accumulation, since what is held in is stored and grows. Legge's Judgment says it will be advantageous "to be firm and correct", and to take service rather than live on one's own revenues at home. The Image asks the superior man to store up the sayings and deeds of the past to strengthen his virtue. The lines are about holding back a strong horse and a young bull until the restraint itself becomes the strength.
Human Design puts gate 26 from 17°00′ to 22°37′30″ Sagittarius, in the Heart centre, one of the four motors, which the system ties to will. Its channel, which the school names Surrender, runs to gate 44 in the Spleen, the centre of instinct in its terms; the pair is in the Ego circuit of the school's Tribal group.
The engine names the gate The Egoist. With its hexagram, we read it in our own words as stored strength and the will to use it well: what has been gathered, kept back, and then brought out when it counts. The hexagram is not about vanity; its restraint is what lets the force be useful, and its top line is the way of heaven opened. The gate can be read as presenting oneself, or what one offers, to best effect, and its channel to gate 44, the encounter, as knowing which moment of meeting that is.
Opposite gate 26 on the wheel is gate 45, gathering together. The school names a cross, Rulership, from 26 and 45 with 22 and 47. A cross is a name for four positions in a chart; it confers nothing.

Gate 26 covers 5°37′30″ of the zodiac, from 17°00′ to 22°37′30″ Sagittarius, the 57th gate counting from gate 41. In 2026 the Sun passes through it from 9 December to 14 December, and within a day of those dates in other years. Each of its six lines covers 56′15″:

When the Personality Sun is in this gate, the school's table names the cross by the angle of the profile: the Right Angle Cross of Rulership (26/45 | 47/22), the Juxtaposition Cross of the Trickster (26/45 | 6/36) or the Left Angle Cross of Confrontation (26/45 | 6/36). falseWhat the record shows: The wheel is Ra Uru Hu's arrangement: Shao Yong's 11th-century circle of the 64, rotated so that hexagram 41 starts at 2° Aquarius. No Chinese source ties a hexagram to degrees of the zodiac.

The Heart centre, where gate 26 sits, is an organ or gland, and the gate tells something about the body.
unverifiedWhat the record shows: The centre's name is a name. The schools' pairing of the centres with organs and glands, taken from the chakra books of the 1920s, has no physiological correspondence that anyone has shown, and we never read a gate or a centre as the body or its health.
