Meaning
Two lakes, one above the other, keep each other from drying up: the hexagram is joy, pleasure, open speech. The character 兌 is associated in the Wings with the mouth and with talk, and the tradition's joy is a sociable one. Legge's Judgment promises "progress and attainment", with the condition, as so often, that it will be advantageous to be firm and correct. The Image has the superior man meet with friends to talk and practise together, as the two lakes renew each other.
Human Design places gate 58 from 3°52′30″ to 9°30′ Capricorn, in the Root centre, one of the four motors, which the system ties to pressure and drive. Its channel, which the school names Judgment, runs to gate 18 in the Spleen; the pair is in the Understanding circuit of the Collective group.
The engine names the gate Vitality. With its hexagram, we read it in our own words as zest: the delight in life that presses for things to be better, and shares its pleasure in them. The hexagram is careful to separate joy from mere indulgence; its third line seeks pleasure from outside and goes wrong, its fifth trusts something that wears it away. Joined to gate 18, the repair of what is spoiled, the gate can be read as delight that becomes the energy to improve things. The name is a name; this page says nothing about anyone's energy or physical state.
Opposite gate 58 on the wheel is gate 52, keeping still: joy faces rest. The school names the Right Angle Cross of Service from 58 and 52 with 18 and 17.

Gate 58 covers 5°37′30″ of the zodiac, from 3°52′30″ to 9°30′ Capricorn, the 60th gate counting from gate 41. In 2026 the Sun passes through it from 25 December to 31 December, and within a day of those dates in other years. Each of its six lines covers 56′15″:

falseWhat the record shows: The wheel is Ra Uru Hu's arrangement: Shao Yong's 11th-century circle of the 64, rotated so that hexagram 41 starts at 2° Aquarius. No Chinese source ties a hexagram to degrees of the zodiac.

The Root centre, where gate 58 sits, is an organ or gland, and the gate tells something about the body.
unverifiedWhat the record shows: The centre's name is a name. The schools' pairing of the centres with organs and glands, taken from the chakra books of the 1920s, has no physiological correspondence that anyone has shown, and we never read a gate or a centre as the body or its health.
