Meaning
Fire stands above heaven: the sun at noon, lighting the whole world. The hexagram has one broken line, in the ruler's place, holding the five whole lines around it, and the tradition reads it as great possession, held by modesty at the centre. Its Judgment is short: "great progress and success", in Legge's English. The Image asks the superior man to check what is evil and give distinction to what is good, in keeping with the nature heaven gave.
Human Design puts gate 14 from 24°30′ Scorpio to 0°07′30″ Sagittarius, in the Sacral centre, the motor the system ties to working and life-force energy. Its channel, which the school names The Beat, runs to gate 2 in the G centre, the centre of identity and direction in its terms; the pair is in the Knowing circuit of the Individual group.
The engine names the gate Power Skills. In the hexagram, what is possessed is a trust: the soft ruler holds it by not grasping. We read the gate, in our own words, as capacity, the energy and skill to make things happen, and the question of where to point it. At the channel's other end, gate 2, the earth hexagram, is the centre's sense of direction. Read together, the two can be taken as working energy that finds its use when it follows a direction rather than its own momentum. The book's line texts are blunt about how possession goes wrong: the third line offers what it has to the ruler, which a small man cannot do.

Gate 14 covers 5°37′30″ of the zodiac, from 24°30′ Scorpio to 0°07′30″ Sagittarius, the 53rd gate counting from gate 41. In 2026 the Sun passes through it from 16 November to 22 November, and within a day of those dates in other years. Each of its six lines covers 56′15″:

unverifiedWhat the record shows: The centre's name is a name. The schools' pairing of the centres with organs and glands, taken from the chakra books of the 1920s, has no physiological correspondence that anyone has shown, and we never read a gate or a centre as the body or its health.
