Meaning
The figure looks like the vessel it names: a broken line for the legs, three whole lines for the body, a broken line for the ears and a whole line for the carrying bar. The cauldron of ancient China was the vessel of offerings and feasts, and of the state itself, and the hexagram reads it as nourishment raised to the sacred. Its Judgment is short: "Ting gives the intimation of great progress and success", in Legge's English. The Image has the superior man keep his position correct and so secure his mandate, as the cauldron stands firm.
Human Design places gate 50 from 26°22′30″ Libra to 2°00′ Scorpio, in the Spleen centre, which the system ties to instinct and intuition. Its channel, which the school names Preservation, runs to gate 27 in the Sacral; the pair is one of the two channels of what the school calls the Defense circuit, in its Tribal group.
The engine names the gate Values. We read it, in our own words, as the sense of what a group must keep, and the rules that keep it: the cauldron is what a household or a state will not do without. The line texts are about keeping the vessel sound, its legs upturned to empty out the stale, its ears changed, its rings of jade at the top. Joined to gate 27, the open mouth of nourishment, the gate can be read as care for others that is guided by what they hold dear. falseWhat the record shows: The wheel is Ra Uru Hu's arrangement: Shao Yong's 11th-century circle of the 64, rotated so that hexagram 41 starts at 2° Aquarius. No Chinese source ties a hexagram to degrees of the zodiac.
