Meaning
A mountain stands under the earth: something high that keeps itself low. The tradition reads the figure as modesty, and its six line texts are favourable from the first to the last. Legge's Judgment promises "progress and success"; the superior man, humble as it implies, carries his undertakings through. The Image gives the clearest picture of what modesty does: the superior man reduces what is too much and adds where there is too little, weighing things and making them even.
Human Design places gate 15 from 28°15′ Gemini to 3°52′30″ Cancer, in the G centre, which it ties to identity and direction. Its channel, which the school names Rhythm, runs to gate 5 in the Sacral, the motor it ties to working and life-force energy; the pair is in the Understanding circuit of the Collective group.
The engine's name for the gate is Extremes, which seems at first the opposite of modesty. The Image reconciles them. The modest person in the I Ching is the one who can see both extremes and bring them into balance, cutting the high and raising the low. We read the gate, in our own words, as range: an identity that is comfortable with very different paces and moods, and finds its measure across them rather than in a single one. Joined to gate 5, whose hexagram is waiting with meals taken in their time, it can be read as many rhythms held within one steady pattern.
Opposite gate 15 on the wheel is gate 10, treading on the tiger's tail. Both are in the G centre, and the school names a cross, the Vessel of Love, from the pair of them, read from either side. A cross is a name given to four positions in a chart, never a calling.

Gate 15 covers 5°37′30″ of the zodiac, from 28°15′ Gemini to 3°52′30″ Cancer, the 27th gate counting from gate 41. In 2026 the Sun passes through it from 19 June to 25 June, and within a day of those dates in other years. Each of its six lines covers 56′15″:
