Free Jyotisha chart

Your Jyotisha chart is your birth chart in the sidereal zodiac: each tropical position less the Lahiri ayanamsa, now about 24 degrees, with the lagna rising in the east, each graha's rashi and nakshatra, and the Vimshottari dasha periods counted from the Moon's nakshatra.

Enter your birth date, time and place to see your Jyotisha chart in the South Indian form: the rashi chart and the navamsa, the lagna, each graha's rashi, nakshatra and pada, and the Vimshottari dasha periods counted from your Moon's nakshatra.

About Jyotisha Chart (Sidereal)

Your Jyotisha chart is the birth chart of India's astrology, often called Vedic astrology in English, drawn as a square in the sidereal zodiac: for 19 January 1989 at 19:17 in Ann Arbor the lagna is Karka, and the Moon stands in Mithuna, in the nakshatra Ardra, so the Vimshottari reckoning opens in Rahu's period.

The tradition counts Jyotisha among the six Vedangas of the Veda; the chart follows the Indian ephemeris, with the Lahiri ayanamsa that India's Calendar Reform Committee set in 1955.

How we compute it

Tropical positions from NASA JPL's DE440s through Skyfield, less the Lahiri ayanamsa set by India's Calendar Reform Committee in 1955; whole-sign bhavas from the lagna; mean Rahu and Ketu; navamsa parts of 3°20′; the Vimshottari dasha with years of 365.25 days. The chart computes no doshas and offers no remedies.
